Chelsea social worker Eric Pistek has collected over 500 crayons to donate to SCARCE’s “Super Crayon” project. SCARCE is an organization dedicated to environmental education and conservation. Their “Super Crayon” project keeps broken and otherwise unusable crayons from being tossed in landfills.
Over 80 6th graders at Hickory Creek Middle School were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) via a virtual ceremony.
Sixth through eighth grade students at Hickory Creek Middle School participated in the school's annual GREAT STRIDES: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis (CF) walk at the end of May.
The 6th grade team came in 5th place, the 7th grade team came in 6th place, and the 8th grade team came in 4th place in the state during the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics competition.

For the staff at 157-C, Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is a bright spot at the end of the school year. This year, FSP put on a wonderful week-long celebration to show their gratitude and express the community’s heartfelt thanks.
24 Hickory Creek band and orchestra students submitted performances virtually for the Illinois Grade School Music Association solo and ensemble contest. Students performed a musical selection of their choice. We had nearly all students receive Division 1 ratings, which is the highest score!
Chelsea students and their families have raised $35,917.77 during the Kids Heart Challenge, exceeding their goal of $20,000. Frankfort 157-C is proud of our community and student heart heroes that help the American Heart Association save lives.
